The advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) are considered to have high prospects for the oxidization, discoloration, mineralization, and degradation of organic pollutants. Among AOPs, treatments with UV radiation alone or together with photocatalysts are effectively applied for treatment of polluted water, especially hazard wastewater such as dye sewage.
The 'NaViTex' project is a joint research project to treat dye sewage from textile plants. The consortium is consisting of German and Vietnamese partners of universities and partners from industry. The aim is the implementation of a pilot plant using UV treatment (+/- photocatalyst) in textile plants in Danang, Vietnam. During the project 3 different reactors were shipped to Vietnam and experiments were done by the German and Vietnamese partners.
In the presentation the experimental set up and the results will be shown. From our experiments it can be concluded that the treatment of waste water of textile plants can be conducted successfully.
