The American Physical Society (APS) has honored Gianaurelio Cuniberti as a member of the 2022 Fellows of the Society. This year, 157 Fellows were selected for their contributions to science, among them only 7 from Germany and 25 from Europe.

Cuniberti was nominated through the American Physical Society Division of Computational Physics (DCOMP) and is awarded for “pioneering computational and experimental works on low-dimensional structures and lasting contributions to the atom-to-system understanding of nanoelectronics devices.”

The APS Fellowship Program was created to recognize members who have made advances in physics through original research and publication and made significant innovative contributions in the application of physics to science and technology.

Becoming an APS Fellow is an exclusive distinction: each year, no more than one half of one percent of the Society’s membership is recognized by their peers for election to the status of Fellow.
