PhD student

Room: HAL 122
Group: computational materials science and theoretical nanophysics
Download contact:

Suryansh studied Nanophysics at the University of Delhi & the Université Joseph Fourier and received his M.Tech. (Nanoscience & Nanotechnology) degree in 2014. He also studied Physics and received his M.Sc. Physics degree in 2020 from the University of Delhi. From January 2021 to July 2023, he carried out a project entitled – “Light-Controlled Chiral-Induced Spin Selectivity (CISS) Effect-based Hybrid Quantum Dot-DNA Impedimetric Device for DNA Hybridization Detection”, under the supervision of Dr. Debabrata Mishra (Molecular Electronics Laboratory, University of Delhi). In this work, he developed a light-amplified spin-based DNA hybridization sensor and achieved a limit of detection (LoD) of 10 fM. In March 2023, he awarded the prestigious Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) Scholarship Award by the German Government to conduct Ph.D. in Germany for four years and in October 2023 he joined Prof. Gianaurelio Cuniberti’s chair to study “Computational Modeling of the CISS Effect”.
