Sergio finished his B. Sc. In Nanotechnology at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in 2017. Then, he joined the Erasmus Mundus Master in Nanotechnology, the M.Sc. program offered in collaboration by KU Leuven and TU Dresden. During his master thesis, he worked with on-chip integrated impedimetric sensors at our chair. Since 2019, he is an extra mœnia Ph.D. student at the department of “Intelligent materials and systems” at the HZDR under the supervision of Dr. Denys Makarov. His research is centered around the integration of magnetically actuated microswimmers and sensors in lab-on-chip microfluidic platforms.
