Giulia Giannone studies Matter Physics at the University of Salento (Italy). She was visiting student at the University of St. Andrews where she worked on "Organic Luminescent Cylindrical Concentrator" with Prof. Graham Turnbull and his group. In 2015 she got her Bachelor's Degree at the University of Salento with Prof. M. Anni, discussing a thesis on "Optical Properties of Organic Luminescent Cylindrical Concentrator". Her research interests span from condensed matter physics to quantum mechanical simulation methods and plasmonics. In Dresden, she plans to work for her Master Thesis on the theoretical analysis, within the framework of Density Functional based Tight Binding, of plasmonic clusters, both bare and interacting with molecules.
