Ebru studied Materials Science and Engineering at Anadolu University (now Eskisehir Technical University, Eskisehir, Turkey) between 2009-2013. Later, she continued her graduate studies at the Materials Science and Nanotechnology Center (UNAM) of Bilkent University (Ankara, Turkey) and received her master's degree in 2015. In January 2016, she joined the Applied Nanotribology group at the Institute for Applied Materials-Computational Materials Science (IAM-CMS) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) as a PhD student and earned her PhD degree in 2019. During her doctoral studies in 2018, she received a Research Travel Grant from KIT's Karlsruhe House of Young Scientists (KHYS) and was a visiting researcher at Sandia National Laboratories (Albuquerque, USA) for 3 months. After receiving her PhD, she continued her academic career as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute of Applied Physics at the University of Giessen between 2019-2021. Since November 2021, she has been working as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Chair of Materials Science and Nanotechnology at TU Dresden. Her academic studies mainly focus on the tribological properties of nanomaterials investigated through AFM.
