This satellite is focusing on atomic scale modelling of mechanical and electronic properties of carbon nanotube systems. We will highlight the computational challenges in modelling these systems and discuss new tools that overcome this challenges. New tools include progresses in theoretical modelling as well as next decade peta-flops computers and software for taking advantage of these new technologies.
The workshop formula is of APS-like 15-minutes talks so to provide a panoramic view of the state-of-the-art in the field; workshop participants might then benefit from going into presentation details during the NT'05 meeting.
